Helping mothers root into the present

and reconnect to themselves.

If your journey into motherhood or fatherhood has been heavier, lonelier, and more complicated than expected, you are not alone.

So many parents navigate loss, trauma, or postpartum anxiety and depression – all while trying to hold it together. You don't need another pep talk or unsolicited advice, you need real support.

I offer a safe and empathetic space to untangle all of the thoughts, emotions, and beliefs parents or expecting parents carry.

My goal is to help you go from surviving to finding safety in your body and confidence in how you show up as a parent.

Does this sound like you?

You are carrying the entire mental load at home.

Anxiety and constant dread are stealing the joy you hoped to

feel in this season of life.

You are feeling disconnected from yourself and to those around you.

You’ve experienced the grief of infertility, miscarriage, or pregnancy loss — and the world around you keeps moving while you

are still stuck in the pain.

You had a high-risk pregnancy, difficult birth or a complicated postpartum, and you feel trapped by fear.

The fun, wonderful, and carefree partnership you had before the baby came now looks completely unfamiliar and feels anything but easygoing.

You feel overwhelmed, isolated, and unsure of yourself in motherhood – like you aren’t living up to your own standards.

You want to be the best parent for your child, and that means investing in yourself and your wellbeing. It is okay to give yourself permission to seek support. You don't have to navigate this alone. Schedule a free intro call. and let's take the first step of caring for yourself so you can be the parent you desire to be.

About

Hey there, I'm Megan!

I am so glad you are here! The relationship between the therapist and client is so crucial for successful therapeutic outcomes. It is so important to feel connected and safe with your therapist! That is why I offer a free 15-minute virtual consultation before we officially start our sessions. This consultation will help determine if I fit your needs and goals well. Hopefully, the information on this page will give you a good picture of who I am. You can also check me on my Instagram page @sitwithmegan to learn more about my therapy style. Why I Became a Perinatal Therapist  My passion for working with the perinatal population really took root in graduate school, when I started learning about the huge gaps in maternal mental healthcare. I was shocked to realize how many women struggle silently during pregnancy and postpartum, without the support or understanding they deserve. This led myself and classmates to advocate for a proclamation to be made by the governor of Kansas declaring the month of May to be Maternal Mental Health month.  Not long after, my own pregnancy and postpartum journey brought those lessons to life in a deeply personal way. I experienced firsthand the mix of joy, vulnerability, and emotional challenges that come with becoming a mother, and it opened my eyes even more to how important compassionate, informed care is during this time. That experience solidified my commitment to supporting mothers and families, helping them feel seen, heard, and cared for through every part of their journey. Sitting with Me My approach is …. Holistic & Individualized, Collaborative & Intentional, Trauma Informed. My approach is relational, and so I believe that therapy is collaborative rather than prescriptive. I know that you are the expert of your own life and experience, and it would be my privilege to walk alongside you as you understand yourself on a deeper level. Though you may doubt it – I deeply believe that you are the best parent for your child, and therapy is about reconnecting to wisdom that has always been inside you.  We Move at Your Pace We take inventory of your environment and mental load We work with your body and nervous system – not just your thoughts In therapy I will integrate ACT, mindfulness, and parts work to help you heal from difficult experiences. I will also focus on nervous system regulation to help you gain resources to stay calm, grounded, and safe. Finally, I will show up in an authentic, warm, and empathetic way while still being unafraid to gently challenge you when needed.  I know firsthand that therapy works, and I am genuinely invested in every client I work with. You want a therapist who gets it, and I get that. Outside the Office  Now that you've heard about what I am like in the therapy room, you may wonder who I am outside the office. I spend a lot of quality time with my husband and am often keeping up with our young daughter! Outside of my roles of being a therapist, wife, and mom, I am happiest being outside at a local park, completing a complex puzzle, playing golf with friends, and mastering the art of home cooking. I love gathering with my community weekly and diving into meaningful conversations while enjoying time in the presence of others.

Virtual Sessions

Individual 50 minute session - $80 Couple 50 minute session - $80 I offer virtual therapy sessions for my Missouri residents! Although I love seeing my clients face-to-face, I equally love virtual therapy sessions for all of the amazing benefits it can offer people! Think of virtual therapy as bringing the safety, warmth, and resources of the therapy office to the comfort of your own home. All you need is a stable WiFi connection, a phone, laptop, or tablet with a camera, and a pair of headphones. Similarly to in-person sessions, therapy looks like talking about presenting problems, current stressors or therapeutic goals. For my clients, I find that it is such a simple way to add in therapy as they are adjusting to parenthood or cannot find childcare.
